2024 Baby Name Predictions
2024 Baby Names I Think Will Become Popular
So, I started writing this blog post in December 2023. And as you know, life gets in the way, so this never got published. As the saying goes, there's no time like the present.
Every year around December, a list of the most popular baby names for the year circulates on social media. There’s also a separate list of names that “broke into the top 50”. Here’s my very own list of names I think will break into the top 50 this year. Do I just really like the sound of these names and want my clients to use them? Maybe…
My Predictions:
Girl Names
Amina
Elma
Sloan
Elsie
Lula
Nellie
Josephine
Adelia
We’re seeing names that were popular in the early 1900s make a comeback. Names like Annie, Eleanor, Theodore/Theodora, and Leo were all in the top 20 names from 1910-1920. I predict more of these names will start to become popular once again.
Boy Names Boy names have stayed relatively consistent throughout history, but we're now seeing more changes. Uncommon names like Grey, Axel, and Arlo are gaining popularity. Short 1-2 syllable names and names from various cultures are also becoming trendy. For example, Amir (which means "prince" or "ruler") was in the top 50, as well as Santiago and Enzo.
I think people will continue to favor short 1-2 syllable names this year, with a further push towards cultural and ethnic names.
Ari
Axil
Bali
Kael (pronounced "kale")
Malik
Teo
Will these names make the top 10 trending names for 2024? I highly doubt it. Did I put weeks of research into compiling and researching this list? Also no.
I just picked a few names I liked the sound of.
Will you see a few of your favorite momfluencers using these names? Likely.
I hope you also like the sound of these names. Please DM me with pictures of your babies if you happen to use any names from this list.
